A CEO field trip to remember! Destination… Galena. We first stopped at Hoof It - Galena, where owner Christina Eisbach welcomed us to her 300 acre home. She talked about doing marketing in corporate America, and how she could never align herself with the culture and just didn’t enjoy what she was doing. Her kids and her would take a walk in the evenings with their goats to decompress. Christina needed to figure out a way to come up with a supplemental income to help pay for her kids’ college, and she thought “why not open up our home to the public by doing goat hikes?” Her business idea has blossomed into full time work for the entire family, and Christina is living out her passion on the very farm she grew up on!

From there, we had a quick lunch downtown and about an hour to independently walk through the shops. Each student was given a task prior to the trip to pick a store, check out their website, social media presence, and entrepreneurial history. It made it that much more special when they were able to visit it first hand yesterday. It was a hot, but great day!
