Bailey Russell, Global Product Marketing Specialist and also former CEO student (2015), spoke to the class on Wednesday sharing her knowledge of product branding. Besides the creativity one would expect with marketing, she must work with and understand legalities, strategic plans, engineering, new products, packaging, and social media. It is important to note that everything in marketing comes from branding and at Wahl Clipper it is all about connections, while remaining humble. She then challenged students to create branding for a product of their choice and we heard some interesting concepts from Neon Blast (laser tag) to Scent Co. (perfumes and colognes), and business shoes, unbreakable bats (there's one for the legal team), and water bottles. There were many take-aways applicable to branding our class and individual businesses.
