Wednesday found CEO students visiting Sterling City Hall and learning from a panel, which included Brad Schrader, Public Works, Alex Chavira, Police Chief, Amanda Schmidt, Building and Zoning Superintendent, Mayor Diana Merdian, and Scott Shumard, City Manager. A few very important points are to become an engaged citizen, be informed and ask questions, and as a business owner, involve the city from the beginning of your business planning. Students quickly became aware of many requirements, regulations, inspections, and laws that must be followed, both local and state. The day concluded with the hopes of a visit from Brinkley to CEO class in the near future!
